Christmas Prep

I have been a busy bee of late with the baking of all the treats that I shouldn't be eating but love to make!
My list so far is:

Snickerdoodles
M&M Cookies
Oatmeal Raisin
Peanut Butter Butterscotch Chip
Gingersnaps
Gingerbread Cookies & mini Houses :)
Sugar Cookies
Chocolate Biscotti
Peanut Chews
Caramel Shortbread Squares

And still to make are:

Pecan Pie Bars
Pecan Pie (gift for my Grandmother)
Pumpkin Pies (both my boys loves em!)
Yellow Cake with Coconut Pecan Frosting (for Christmas Day)
Banana CReam Pies (for Christmas Day)

Today however it's housework, laundry and prepping up the trays for Christmas Visitors. My first one is tomorrow... and then I have Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and I like to be prepared in case someone drops in :)

I make a tin for the gentleman I work for and this year his brother lives there as well so will make a special batch of Oatmeal Raisin Cookies for him and my mother as they are both diabetic.

I will be sure to take some pictures of my decorated home once my housework is complete. Can't have you seeing my messy place.. LOL

New Office

I've been busy busy busy with repairing walls, painting and building a new desk for the office! Things are finishing up nicely for the upstairs. Here are some pictures to show off all my hard work. Here is the dining room table. There is only myself and my son so we don't need anything too big for daily needs. For big dinners I have folding chairs and a table in storage that gets set up for the big day.

This is my son Robert using the old PGD desk in it's new home. The dining/school room. He's playing Wizard 101 a favourite online game. I actually play this one with him.

This the office window. A rather dark picture due to the light coming in but you can see that the desk is running along under it as well as...

along the next wall and there are 2 big wonderful shelves above as you can see. I choose the colours to match the curtains that I've used from downstairs when that was the schoolroom. Now it's the living room as it's cool in the Summer and warm for the Winter. There still is a bit more clean up to do .. mostly on the other wall which is why I have not photographed that .. LOL
Well now that I have shown off all my hard work. It's time I got on with other work. Namely supper and then the rest of the clean up. I hope you enjoyed seeing what I've been up to.

Starting Anew

With the change over of the little cliparts to the pictures of us designers on Pine Glen Designs I lost the URL to the blog I was doing... I wonder where it'll end up?! Anyway I've been working hard at getting my walls repaired and painted and thus clearing out and organizing my whole home. What fun! So I guess with all the newness my blog might as well be new too.
I'm not a writer by any means but I do like to jot a fews words down from time to time and in this was I can keep stitchers and friends in the loop of how things are going in my life.
Monday will be a early busy day as the guys who are redoing the stairs and kitchen diningroom floor will be in to get started.
I've finished repairing the walls in that area and have only the one wall - the accent wall to paint. Dependind on how the weekend goes I may well get that wall done before they show up on Monday. I have a desk on that wall with my son's computer so left it till the last to move.
I will be building my own custom desk here in the office so this desk will be used in that room and the old one given to a friend who requested it.
As many people know I homeschool my 10yr son and this year we've been cracking the books a little. Working on his grammar, math and penmanship. We're pretty much "unschoolers" and recently I learned a new word that fits more with our style of schooing "strewing". Which is basicly my putting in my son's path the tools and equipment to learn on his own. He surprises me on a regular bases on what he's learned on his own.
After the floors, walls and new desk are all completed and I'm well organized we'll be doing more projects to aid in his learning in a fun way.
For now I'll sign off and if I don't post again for a week you'll know I'm knee deep in paint andor construction of my new office desk.
